I was unfortunately unable to attend the "American Design in Paris" opening reception at the Triode gallery in Paris, but the show was quite a success and our new "infinity pendents" are catching a lot of attention! here are some pics.

au revoir.

American Design in Paris  12/23/2010

I'm thrilled to be a part of Triode Design's "American Design in Paris" exhibition taking place next month. I had the pleasure of meeting Jacques Barrett, the founder of Triode Design, a year and a half ago at ICFF and was fortunate enough to be asked to participate in last year's American Design debut show. Jacques identified early on this growing American Design movement and created a platform for it in his showroom in Paris. The list of participating designers is inspiring - I respect all of their work and am honored to be showing pieces with them. I'll be debuting some new pieces at the show - so stay tuned.

Happy Holidays and looking forward to an exciting 2011!

I was excited to have one of my favorite designers and now good friend joey roth invite me to participate in a show in nyc to reinterpret his ceramic speakers and stereo system he designed this past year. I of course had to make glass speaker enclosures inspired by the speakerphones of the 1800's. And also lined joey's receiver in a beautiful brown leather with a machined brass volume control sitting on a blackened steel base for your ipod. below is some info. about the event/project and some pictures.

It was a fantastic project.
I loved it so much and it was such a hit at the show that i'm working with joey on another collaboration. stay tuned.

enjoy

About sounds-like

soundslike.org

Nine designers and five musicians reinterpret the Ceramic Speakers, designed by Joey Roth.

Joey Roth released his Ceramic Speakers earlier this year. Their porcelain shells and natural birch stands looked to many like a blank canvas. So, Joey gave sets of the speakers to nine of his favorite artists and designers, to modify and reshape using their own visual languages.

The collaborators then worked with musicians to produce tracks specifically for their re-imagined speaker systems. During the show, these tracks will be played sequentially through the corresponding set of speakers. Each collaborator’s concept will be on display, both as an object and as a musical composition.
